Have a happy, and worry free, Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving preparation and clean up can lead to a lot of waste in the kitchen drain and garbage disposal. Also, a house full of guests equates to additional toilet flushes, dishwashing, laundry and showers, all of which put a strain on a home's plumbing system.

Tips for a hassle free Thanksgiving:

·         Never pour fats or cooking oils down drains as they solidify in pipes. Instead, wipe grease from pots with paper towels and discard in the trash.

·         Avoid putting stringy, fibrous or starchy waste in the garbage disposal. Poultry skins, celery, fruit & potato peels, for example, cannot be sufficiently ground up.

·         Run cold water down the drain for about 15 seconds before and after using the garbage disposer to flush waste down the main line.

·         When hosting guests, it's a good idea to wait ten minutes between showers so slow drains have time to do their job and the water has time to reheat.

·         Make sure there is a wastebasket in the bathroom so guests don't toss wipes and cotton swabs in the toilet.

Why a PEO is Good For Business

Long before the passage of the ACA, PEOs worked with small and mid-sized business clients to provide employees access to health insurance.

Today, PEOs facilitate such access for as many as 4 to 6 million people.

PEOs have a proven track record of promoting compliance with federal and state employment/workforce laws and providing big business benefits to small businesses and their employees.

Under the ACA, NAPEO believes PEOs can continue to serve your needs as they have in the past. Read more
